Beetroot powder is a concentrated form of beetroot, made by removing almost all the water from fresh beets and grinding what remains into a fine powder. It keeps most of the color and flavor, but in a much more compact and versatile form. This makes the powder popular both as a supplement and as a natural food ingredient.
It has a deep red to purplish color and a slightly sweet but earthy taste. Because of its vibrant color, it is commonly used as a natural coloring for baked goods, sauces and pasta. Besides that, it is also popular in smoothies, juices, sports nutrition products and supplements.
