IRISH MOSS POWDER

Also known as “sea moss from other Caribbean Islands” or lat. Chondrus crispus, is a species of red algae which grows abundantly along the rocky parts of the Atlantic coast of North America and Europe. In its fresh condition this protist is soft and cartilaginous.

Irish moss contains carrageenan, which is a natural substance used for its ability to form a gel consistency. Carrageenans are very often used in the food and cosmetic industries. Carrageenan molecules are special for an ability to not be absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract and therefore, cause satiety. Sometimes, they are also used in the weight loss products.
